The Loneliest Girl In The Universe by Lauren James

'Can you fall in love with someone you've never even met?' Travelling alone in space, Romy Silvers is the last surviving crew member aboard The   Infinity on its path to Earth II. Now that her parents are gone her only communication is to Earth until she finds out that another ship is coming to meet her, The Eternity . Aboard is a boy called J. Romy start counting down the days until she will meet J. She can only talk to him via email and it takes months for the messages to get to him. Soon enough she finds herself falling in love with someone she's never even met. I was expecting a nice, short romance but I was so surprised by this book. I obviously don't want to spoil it for anyone but I did not expect that ending! This book is very fast paced and the short entries make it easy to just pick up and read. By the time I got to the second half I couldn't put it down and read it all in one go. It was very tempting at parts to read ahead but I restrained myself

The Sin Eater's Daughter by Melinda Salisbury

" I am the perfect weapon. I kill with a single touch " The Sin Eater's Daughter is Salisbury's first novel. It is about Twylla, the 'Daunen Embodied' girl who can kill with a single touch. For many harvests now she has lived in the castle, killing traitors who have upset the powerful Queen and awaiting her marriage to the prince Merek. Until Lief, her new guard shows her that everything may not be as it seems... I really enjoyed the Sin Eater's Daughter. The story was very exciting and there were many intriguing plot twists that encouraged me to read on. I really felt for Twylla as the world she had become accustomed to started to crumble around her. I would definitely recommend this novel as it is amazing and is up there with some of my favourites. I cant wait to start the next book, The Sleeping Prince. Thanks for reading Emily x

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

"A Tale of Fanfiction, Family and First Love" If you didn't already know the book is basically the title. It's that simple! Fangirl is about Cath, as she copes with school, her "boyfriend", her roommate, her sister, her father, her mother and all the people who read her Fanfiction. It's tough! Fangirl is a lengthy but fantastic book. From the moment we start reading we connect with Cath and her emotions and we fall in love with the characters. Cath and Levi are so so adorable and cute! Throughout the book we read extracts from Cath's Fanfiction and the story she in "fangirling" about. And these are often based on Cath's emotions in each chapter. I would definitely, definitely recommend Fangirl as a classic YA novel. Thanks for reading  Emily x

Shine by Candy Gourlay

"Monsters are in the eye of the beholder" Shine is about a girl called Rosa, looked after by her father and Yaya, whom she met when she was little. She has a strange condition called the Calm that renders her mute. Because of this she cannot leave her house so instead she finds company from online friends. Throughout the book we learn her and her mother's story and the secrets her parents kept from her. This book is jammed pack full of plot twists! Candy inserts chapters in the perspective of Rosa's mother, tying the story together. We fall in love with Yaya's motherly side and her fathers kind and protective ways. Shine is easy just to pick up and read. This book would definitely be suitable for younger and older readers. I've never read a book about someone who is mute, so it gave me a good insight. Dog Ears by Anne Booth

"A true friend is always by your side" Dog Ears is a book about a young girl called Anna who has a dog called Timmy. Her Dad is away with work and her Mum has to look after her baby brother, so the only person who will listen to her is Timmy. Life is tough as she has to juggle home life with school life and is constantly torn between pleasing her mum and pleasing her friends.Anna always worries about letting her friends down and this doesn't help when they plan to audition in front of a famous singer. Dog Ears is a sweet little book recommended for young readers but this doesn't mean it is childish. Anne Booth tackles the subject of child carers in a way that is understandable to everyone. As a reader we quickly bond with Anna and understand the challenges she faces from day to day. If you choose this book I would recommend reading the authors note as it is very touching and all in all gives you a better understanding to the emotion behind this book. This is the
